The Life of Jesus:
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." -John 16:33
Jesus has overcome the world and its tribulations, just like the bleach overcame the food coloring.
How does this bring you good cheer and peace?

Science Explanation:
Food coloring has chromaphores in it that reflect color back to your eyes. The oxygen in bleach breaks apart the chromaphore molecules so they no longer reflect light. The baking soda makes it easier for the bleach to break apart the chromaphores.
This is the lesson for Day 24 (of 25) in An Experiment to Remember, a kids advent calendar that uses science object lessons to discuss the life and teachings of Jesus.
